The Search for Wondla-Mom Lore Book Review

Read. This.  Book.

DiTerlizzi is one of our favorite authors (the Tiny Human inhales the pages) because of his range. He writes for Magic: the Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons and he did the Spiderwick Chronicles- what?!

The Search for Wondla by Tony DiTerlizzi is a beautiful work of art. Children or adults, young at heart, who are interested in a solid action packed, emotion loaded, science fiction fantasy should check out this read. The illustrations are original and incredible and the story is just as stunning.

The series follows the story of 12-year-old Eva Nine who has been raised by a maternal robot until her life in her “Sanctuary” begins to crumble- literally. She is forced to leave the comforts of her holograms and face a wild world filled with plenty of danger but also unrivaled beauty. This is the tale of a young heroine building family and friends, discovering herself and saving the world in between. Subtle reference to Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz cannot be overlooked as DiTerlizzi’s world-building draws many similarities. We cannot say enough about this beautiful book.
